We’re very excited that our Gilbert and Sullivan concert is coming up in a week’s time!  The chorus and local soloists have been working hard on the repertoire and the “away” soloists will be joining us next week for the final rehearsals.

Here are the pieces we’ll be performing:

elections from Iolanthe

“Tripping hither, tripping thither”
“Iolanthe! From thy dark exile thou art summoned”
“Good-morrow, good mother”
“Fare thee well, attractive stranger”
“Good-morrow, good lover”
“None shall part us from each other”
“The Law is the true embodiment”
.”My lords, it may not be”
“When all night long a chap remains”
“Love, unrequited, robs me of my rest” … “When you’re lying awake”
“My lord, a suppliant at your feet”
“It may not be”
“Soon as we may, off and away”

Selections from Mikado

If you want to know who we are”
“A Wand’ring Minstrel I”
“Behold the Lord High Executioner”
“As some day it may happen”
“Three little maids from school are we”
“I am so proud”
“Brightly dawns our wedding day”
“Here’s a how-de-do”
“Mi-ya Sa-ma” … “From every kind of man obedience I expect”
“A more humane Mikado”
“The flowers that bloom in the spring”
“Willow, tit-willow”
“There is beauty in the bellow of the blast”
“For he’s gone and married Yum-Yum”
