t’s not every Saturday afternoon you can sit down with a cup of Buckingham
Palace Garden Party Tea, but, thanks to a kind donation from The Tea Brewery
in Mahone Bay, you’ll be able to do just that on March 7th!
Everyone who has attended our teas in the past knows it’s a fun afternoon
with good food, good music and good things on which to bid in our silent
auction. The selection of silent auction items is wonderful, ranging from
flower arrangments to a night at White Point, with food, art, crafts, books
and all manner of other goodies in between.
So this is just a final reminder that tickets for the Mad Hatter’s tea party
need to be purchased in advance, by March 1st, so that we can give numbers
to our caterer.
Please mark your calendars for Maritime Concert Opera’s annual fund-raising
tea and silent auction.
The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party is our main fund-raiser for our Summer Opera
Festival. This year we will present “Tosca” by Puccini in Lunenburg on
Saturday, June 20th. This production will also tour to Yarmouth, Annapolis
Royal and Shelburne.
When:Â Saturday, March 7, 2009, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Where:Â Central United Church Hall, Lunenburg
Catering by John Barr, formerly of Simple Moments Cafe.
Best hat competition
Tickets $15.00 each, available at Fulton’s in Lunenburg, Sagor’s Bookstore
in Bridgewater and Kinburn Pharmasave in Mahone Bay or call 634-4280.
By the way, for those of our supporters who like to go to Halifax to attend
the live screenings from the Metropolitan Opera we are aware of the clash
with the March 7th Madama Butterfly broadcast, but there is an encore
presentation of that opera on April 18th. We hope that you will take the
chance to be able to attend both functions!
