Verdi’s great tragic opera, in concert, with a wonderful cast of Maritime singers.

Gritty and exciting, Rigoletto is packed full of action, emotion and some of the most beautiful and famous operatic numbers ever written, including La donna e mobile, Caro nome and the great Act IV quartet.

As always, Martitime Concert Opera presents the work in the original Italian, but with projected English translations so you don’t miss any of the action!

Maritime Concert Opera’s June show will be Verdi’s great tragedy, Rigoletto.

A curse follows the court jester Rigoletto, whose attempts to keep his precious daughter Gilda out of the hands of the lecherous Duke of Mantua bring tragedy. 

Sung in Italian with projected English translations.

The cast features baritone Andrew Tees as Rigoletto, coloratura soprano Suzanne Rigden as Gilda, tenor Jason Davis as the Duke of Mantua and Lunenburg mezzo soprano Nina Scott-Stoddart as Maddalena.

Performances will be from Sunday June 18 to Saturday June 24 in Halifax, Annapolis Royal, Shelburne and Lunenburg.  More information here!


Calling children and adults who would like to participate in our special community opera this fall!

Calling all children ages 4 – 14. Mary Knickle will be directing Maritime Concert Opera’s production of Noyes Fludde – a children’s opera based on the story of Noah’s Ark. The children play the animals and music is very easy and very beautiful. Adults will sing some of the larger animals and will help support the congregational singing.  Please contact Ruth Reedman at 766 – 0153 or email her at maritimeconcertopera@gmail.com to sign up. Noyes Fludde will be performed at the St. Anglican Church staged and costumed on Nov5 and Nov 6. The show is 45 minutes long and involves the whole community.
